ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ Fifty prayers were prescribed on the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, when he was taken on the Night Journey (1). They were then [gradually] reduced until they were five. Then he was called, "Muhammad, indeed My word (decree) is not changed, and Indeed, you have for these five the recorded merits of fifty prayers." Footnote (1): (al-isrā'): the Night Journey of prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Jerusalem ”

Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب الصوم باب ما جاء فى الاعتكاف

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِىِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ وَعُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ حَتَّى قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ. قَالَ وَفِى الْبَابِ عَنْ أُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَأَبِى لَيْلَى وَأَبِى سَعِيدٍ وَأَنَسٍ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَائِشَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, used to retire to the mosque(1) and devote himself to worship during the last ten days of Ramaḍān, until God took his soul. Footnotes: (1) Voluntary retreat to devote oneself to worshipping. Click on ḥadīth to read more
